Mission outreach is an important part of our church life. Last year our mission outreach involved a partnership with The Eddy Center. The Eddy Center is a homeless shelter on the grounds of CVH in Middletown, under the auspicious of The Connection. Outreach started with a visit to the shelter and upon learning of their ongoing Adopt-A-Room program, our church decided to adopt a room of our own!As you can see from the pictures, it was a hands-on, do-it-yourself project. It was a year-long process that involved the whole church. It was work, but at the same time alot of fun. Congregants could take part in a variety of ways, either through donating their time, talent or treasurer and everyone supported this project through prayer throughout the year and beyond, as our church continues to be in partnership with The Eddy Center. In 2009 we are planning to send a work group from our church to The Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Mississippi. This 12-person group will be involved in doing hurricain renovation that is still going on since Hurricaine Katrina hit the gulf coast. Missions is the heart of our church. We feel that mission outreach, whether close by in Middletown or down to the Gulf Coast in Biloxi, Mississippi or participating in the CROP WALK for hunger every April is something that brings our church community together in a unique way - a WAY that we which to walk in.
